EAP Institute Highlights Resilience in the Workplace

The Employee Assistance Programmes (EAP) Institute is to host a programme entitled ?Developing a Resilient Workforce? in the coming months. The one-day programme will be held at the Stillorgan Park Hotel in Dublin on Thursday 17th April and in the Cork Radisson Hotel, Little Island Cork on Thursday 15th May.

The focus of the programme is to assist delegates to define resilience, show how to develop personal resilience, and outline an award-winning case study from GlaxoSmithKline (GSK). It will also help develop the emotional, physical, mental and spiritual health of employees.
Speaking at the programme are Karen Crampin and Gillian Thurgood of GlaxoSmithKline. Karen, who will be speaking at the Dublin seminar, is the Health and Performance Manager at GlaxoSmithKline. She has a background as an Occupational Health Advisor and has worked in the field of health promotion and resilience building for 8 years. Gillian is the United Kingdom Health, Support and Resilience Manager for GlaxoSmithKline. She has a background in helping the business imperative for attending to resilience and will speak at the Cork seminar.

GSK?s resilience programme has been received by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) in the UK as a Beacon of Excellence.

The global economy is changing to a more sustainable level of growth and this will provide challenges and opportunities for business.
