The Seminar Programme being launched by the EAP Institute will reflect the current business climate that we are operating in.? This is stated by Maurice Quinlan, Director, EAP Institute, when he announced the Institute?s Seminar and Conference Programme for 2010. With stress, bullying, intoxicants and mental health included in the Health & Safety Authority?s (HSA) Workplace Health and Wellbeing Strategy, the seminars are designed to provide practical solutions to current major workplace issues.
The first seminar ?The Resilient Manager ? Achieving Personal High Performance in a Changing Economic Environment? will take place on Thursday 4th March 2010 in the Carlton Hotel, Dublin Airport and on Thursday 13th May 2010 in the Clarion Hotel Suites, Ennis Road, Limerick. Speakers will include Sue Cruse, GlaxoSmithKline, a leading, world class speaker on the topic on the Dublin Seminar. Gill Thurgood of empowerME2 who has over 20 years experience in developing, delivering and evaluating award winning workplace interventions, will present on the Limerick Seminar.
This seminar will be followed by the 30th Annual EAP conference on ?Drugs and Alcohol at Work ? Health & Safety Implications in the Workplace?, which will take place at the Ashling Hotel, Parkgate St. Dublin on Wednesday 22nd September 2010.

On Thursday 23rd September in the Ashling Hotel, Dublin, a seminar on ?Procedures for the Collection and Processing of Employee Drug and Alcohol Tests? will take place.
With the Health and Safety Authority now actively completing guidance on intoxicants (defined as drugs and alcohol), both events will reflect the most up to date and best practice approaches to responding to the problems associated with drugs and alcohol in the workplace.
